Have you ever imagined what it would be like if Pat Robertson ever kept his promise? In his book appropriately titled "The New World Order", he stated that the Christian Coalition has enough votes and that when they say that they've had enough, there were going to take over. This whole idea sends chills up my spine as that has somehow been reentered as a topic of discussion lately.
Lets look at what could happen. For starters, they would immediately remove all rights from those who do not suit their way of beliefe or life. Thus anybody who is not Heterosexual and/or not Christian, would be immediately arrested and "murdered" in the name of God. Second; they would illegalize alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, creating an economic crisis that would make the 1929 stock market crash look like nothing but a few lost pennies. Considering the large amount of people employed by these two industries, you might find yourself in Florida standing in a New York Unemployment line.
Can you imagine what Pat Robertson and the rest of his Nazi order would do if they take over? I suddenly pictured him standing in front of the new party of Government, tearing up the Constitution of the United States and claiming it as a dark chapter in Christian History. Suddenly every map of the world shows the United States as the "United Christain States of God's America". All human rights of freedom would be suddenly irradicated and executions would be at an all time high.
"In the news tonight, two thirteen year old boys were executed today for suspicion of homosexuality"
I fear that that is what will happen if we let Bigoted Nazis like the Christian Coalition and the AFA have their way. I never could stand most of their attitudes. Think about it, the extreme largest majority of voilent crimes, including Murder are commited by Christians. Some even say that they were doing "God's Work". HA, some faith they have, the almighty can't do his own dirty work? To make matters worse, I as a Pagan Priest, preach interfaith, teaching that we must understand and respect if we are to be understood and respected. However, this gets me nowhere and I'm constantly told over and over again that I'm wrong and going to hell because I won't accept Jesus Christ as my savior. Like they have? What happened to love and forgivness, what happened to "Judge Not Least Ye Be Judged"?
All in all, the New Testiment of the Bible, not even holy as they can't obey the rules they wrote for themselves, is nothing but pure fiction. For example, lets take one Baptist I know. Now, I can't tell you his name, but some of you know who I'm talking about. This person has a "Smarter than you, better than you, holier than thou" attitude. This person also claims to have once been a Baptist Minister, yet has violated many many many Baptist laws.
Robert Talton once said that Homosexuality is a sin in the bible, when asked which version, he replied "The Southern Baptist Bible" (also known as "Mein Kampht"). Just for the record, there is NO Southern Baptist Bible and if you read the bible you will also find that the fictional character Christains worship as Jesus, said NOTHING about Homosexuality.
To finish this off, I give you one thought. If being who we are is such a sin and we are in violations of God's law for not believing in him; then why were we born with individual minds and free will to follow our own paths?
