The Bride of Computerstein
OR
"Where do you want this Scrap Pile"?

Once again, it's been an interesting week for dear old Dar. ComputerStein finally kicked the bucket big time with the motherboard finally saying "So long". In the process, it took the entire 6.4 gig harddrive with it. All I have to do is get the LS-120 up and running again and then replace those other two parts and I should be back in full swing. However, until then, Rigel7 and I have incorporated (mated) the surviving components together and created, withing Moira (Rigel's computer). "The Bride of ComputerStein". She's a nasty little internet deamon. She flies through every site and has a lot more memory support so I'm able to use the microphone headset and call people with my Phone Free. Plus I can also access my Star Trek communicator and now have the voice chat on my site. So things aren't so bad after all. However, I think he's getting peeved about the amount of time I spend online. Not too sure, but he never really noticed or cared when I had the monster running.

My real concerns are with the LS-120, it's a floppy drive that hold 120 mb, of course, but I need the poor thing up and running soon or get a new one because the book I've been working on the past six months is backed up on a disk that doesn't work in a standard 1.44 meg floppy drive. You can imagine my panic. Along with my book are my favorite pics, including my personal photo album of family photos I scanned to salvage. My favorite MP3s, this entire website, as well as many many many irreplaceable things. Yeah, I can always FTP and redownload the site again......already done.

Gar_Katt: I'll send you the LS-120 and see what you can do with it, I know you have experience with these things.

Now, allow me to repeat myself from the index page of this site. I can now be found online most of the time. If you have the Star Trek Communicator, found at www.startrek.com, my number is 388322 or use Phone Free and contact me with my PCC number 2389626. Along with the voice chat, we can communicate very well with each other.

I really don't have much to say this week, except that Rigel and I are puppy sitting for Brett while he goes on vacation to Georgia to visit his sister. Kaluah is a pretty pretty little 75 pound chocolate Labrador.....and she knows it. Right now, I can look across the bedroom/office and see Rigel napping in bed with Kaluah laying down in my spot right next to him...........I can't tell who snores louder.

In case your wondering about the StarDate at the top, Rigel, G7998 and I got together and I was set to the task of figuring out a true stardate from the human perspective. It's very simple.....We decided that StarDate 0 would be Oct 4, 1957 (the launch of Sputnik). Man's first true steps to reaching the stars (hey, give credit where credit is truly due). Therefore, it has now been 15,627 days (not counting leap days as only the US has a leap day) Since the Launch. And then you just use standard 24 hour military time for the place after the point. At the time I'm writing this, it's 3:31 pm, so that would make it 1531.

Anyways, time for me to go and get some work done, I have other pages to deal with and I really don't feel like messing around too much with this as I also have some housework to do. Tak care and behave yourselves.
